Russell is currently a Co-Principal in Pandemic Marketing, which provides marketing solutions to all areas of the motion picture industry through a consortium of boutique companies and individuals.
Russell was recently President of Domestic Marketing at Relativity Media. He was responsible for all aspects of publicity, digital, creative advertising, promotions and media buying for the company’s theatrical release slate. In addition to his core marketing job, Russell ran the Relativity Marketing Council, comprised of a group of young execs from the nine different divisions of Relativity Media (sports, branding, content, television, etc) who came together on a monthly basis to cross pollinate ideas and how best to integrate.
From 2001-2008 he was President of Domestic Marketing for New Line Cinema and managed the marketing campaigns for over 60 title including The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Hairspray, Austin Powers, Elf, Wedding Crashers, About Schmidt, Rush Hour 2 and 3, A History of Violence, The Blade Trilogy, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1 and 2, and The Notebook. In addition to the numerous Academy Award nominations and wins for The Lord of the Rings, he was given the Yahoo Award for Integrated Marketing for his campaign on Wedding Crashers and was twice given the Advertising Age Marketeer of the Year Award.
Prior to this he was President of both USA Films and Gramercy Pictures throughout the 1990s and produced and/or released such independent classics as Four Weddings and a Funeral, Fargo, Dead Man Walking, The Usual Suspects, Elizabeth, The Big Lebowski, Dazed and Confused, Being John Malkovich, Pitch Black and Traffic
Russell is a member of the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences and Film Independent LA. He has also been a moderator/panelist/lecturer at AFI, UCLA, the Peter Stark Producing Program at USC, Sundance Film Festival, The American Film Market, Cannes, The Producers Guild of America Produced By Conference and several other festivals and industry organizations.
He is also currently Associate Professor at the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, Chapman University
Elissa Greer is head of national publicity, promotions and new media. Elissa is a fifteen year veteran of the business and was formally head of national promotions at New Line Cinema and Focus Features
